The vision for Lighthouse Tabernacle Apostolic all began on January 1, 2011, when Pastor Stephen Hogan received a call from the Lord to start a church in Montreal. He began planning and evangelizing. He found a location in July 2012 in the Pierrefonds‑Roxboro area located at 10364 Gouin West, Roxboro. Pastor Hogan started having Bible study services on Wednesday nights.
In October 2012, the building could no longer be used. Discouraged and with the congregation scattered, Pastor Hogan held a service at his mother’s home on a Wednesday evening. A few days later, on Sunday, Pastor Hogan and his wife had service at Parc de la Promenade-Lalande in Roxboro. Following that week, Pastor Hogan visited someone who needed prayer. It was at that prayer meeting that he met Sister Sophia Obidigbo. Sister Obidigbo, better known as Sis. Sophie, invited Pastor Hogan and his family to her home the following week for a prayer meeting, which took place at 8626 Rue Basswood #133, Roxboro. After that meeting, Lighthouse began having services Sunday nights, and that group increased in numbers weekly.
In 2014, after two years of services at Sister Sophie’s, Lighthouse Tabernacle Apostolic stepped out in faith to officially launch an independent ministry. Lighthouse started looking for a place to rent and found its current location at 5020 Salaberry, Montreal, Quebec. Advertising and preparation of the space began in March 2014. The first official service at the new location was held on May 4, 2014. Services have since been held in English, French and Spanish. Pastor Stephen Hogan was officially ordained as a Pastor on Saturday, August 30, 2014, by Pastor Carmen Hamilton from Jubilee Apostolic Church - UPCI.
Although Lighthouse was launched as an independent ministry, Pastor Hogan always had various mentors from the UPCI organization that helped shape and guide the ministry. As of March 16, 2023, Lighthouse officially became a part of the United Pentecostal Church International organization under the Quebec District. Despite many challenges and victories over the years, God has kept us through it all.
